Jorge Siqueira
Here's our foreign exchange student, Jorge Siqueira. Don't forget him! Please keep him in your prayers each day and ask God to give him a safe and happy year so he can return to us again next summer.
Hurricane Ike photos
On Saturday, September 13 in the early morning hours, Hurricane Ike wreaked havoc on the entire Texas gulf coast. While many lost so much more than we did in the storm, we are grateful to God that we didn't lose more. St. Timothy's suffered damage in the nave with at least three leaks from roof damage. In addition, there was roof damage to the Parish Hall, the barbecue pit and picnic area, and considerable tree damage on the campus. We lost approximately one-third or 60 trees on our property. To our friends who no longer live here in the area, we are safe! We covet your prayers as we rebuild to the glory of God! We pray these photos will show you the extent of the damage.
Pentecost and Mother's Day
Pentecost came early this year, as did most of the other church calendar events, and in doing so, it fell on the day normally reserved for Mother's Day. So, St. Timothy's celebrated both on the same day with style! The choir was dressed in their red robes while a large number of the congregational members also dressed out in red. There was a children's service, a battery-operated radio blaring in church (you had to be there for that one!), and red carnations given to all of the ladies in the church.
Cinco de Mayo celebration
The Singles Ministry sponsored a Cinco de Mayo celebration on May 4, 2008, the day before the national Mexican holiday. The food served up included yummy nachos, chips and salsa, tortilla soup, seven-layer dip, and fruit. Included in the festivities was authentic Mexican music sung by Mariachi's. It was a great time for food, fun and fellowship. It was the first time for the celebration, but it certainly won't be the last!
Barbecue Weekend
It was a great weekend! Lots of beautiful, God-given sunshine and plenty of fun and fellowship. Thank you to all who made it a special time of growing and going for the kingdom of God! To all who labored and took vacation days to help get the job done, a special thank you. And to our parish and community, thank you for donating and spending your money at our fundraiser this year. May God bless you. Here's a chance to relive our fun!
Holy Baptism II
Normally, Holy Baptism is one of the rites celebrated on Holy Saturday during Holy Week, but this year, we opted to celebrate the sacrament on the following Sunday. It was one of the largest baptism services we've had in several years with nine on one Sunday! As always, Father Jim invites the children to come forward to watch the celebration up close. This baptism occurred on the Second Week of Easter, Mar. 30, 2008.
Easter festivities
Easter 2008 saw one of the largest crowds at St. Timothy's in recent years! Here's some photos of some of our families. It's a tradition at the church to have your photo made in your Easter duds in front of the cross that's been flowered by parishioners. Everyone brings fresh flowers from the garden or the nearby florist.
Holy Baptism I
One of the beautiful sacraments of the church is that of Holy Baptism. Here is some of the beautiful sights of that command given by Christ and being followed by his believers. This baptism occurred on the Feast of Jesus' Baptism, Jan. 13, 2008.
St. Timothy's Outside
When the world sees St. Timothy's facilities, this is what they see...a beautiful ediface, topped with a cross for all to see. Complimented by a well-manicured lawn and beautiful greenery, the hallowed ground is a place for worship--inside and out. Apart from the sanctuary, there's a breezeway that connects the church to the Parish Hall. Outside of the Parish Hall, is the Adams Memorial Garden, a place for reflection and contemplation.
The Altar and Sanctuary
One of the most beautiful places at St. Timothy's is the High Altar. At every service, it is the focus of all who worship. It is a space that is simple, yet elegant and allows worshippers a solace for prayer, receiving the host, hearing the Word of God, and celebrating in song.
